How the Saudi Tourist Visa works

During the 12 months the visa is valid, you can spend up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia in total. Use them in one longer stay or several shorter visits. The visa ends when the 90 days are used up or the 12 months run out, whichever comes first. You can only hold one Tourist Visa at a time, so a new one can’t be issued until the current one expires.

What is the Saudi Tourist Visa?

A one-year online visa that allows up to 90 days in Saudi Arabia in total, in one trip or several. It covers tourism, family visits, Umrah outside Hajj season and short business trips.

Which nationalities can apply?

Passport holders from 67 eligible countries, including the UK, most of Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. If your nationality isn’t eligible, a Personal Visit, Family Visit or Business Visa may suit instead.

How long is the visa valid?

Twelve months from issue, during which your combined time in Saudi Arabia can’t exceed 90 days.

Can I apply for a new Tourist Visa while my current one is valid?

No. You can only hold one Tourist Visa at a time, so a new one can’t be issued until the current one expires.

I have a British passport. Should I get the Tourist Visa or the ETA?

Both allow multiple visits. The ETA is valid for two years with stays of up to 180 days and is only for British passport holders. The Tourist Visa is valid for one year with 90 days in total. Tell us your travel plans and we’ll recommend the better fit.

Can I perform Umrah on the Tourist Visa?

Yes, outside the Hajj season. For Hajj, a separate Hajj visa is required.

Can I use it for business?

Yes, for short business activities such as meetings and conferences. It does not allow employment; for that you need a Saudi Work Visa and Iqama.

How long does it take?

Most e-visas are issued within a day, and there’s no appointment to attend.
