Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) Apostille UK

Apostille from £59 — next-day service from £79

Getting married abroad? Many countries require your Certificate of No Impediment to be officially apostilled before your wedding can go ahead. We make that simple — we obtain the FCDO apostille on your behalf so your document is recognised abroad, without the stress of doing it yourself.

Please keep in mind that we don’t issue apostilles ourselves. We specialise in guiding your CNI through the correct official channels quickly and accurately, so you avoid the rejections and delays that catch most people out.

What is a Certificate of No Impediment apostille?

A Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) is issued by a UK register office and confirms there is no legal reason why you cannot marry. It is commonly required by foreign authorities before they will allow a marriage to take place.

An apostille is an official certificate added by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) confirming your document is genuine, so it can be accepted in any country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.

Next Day Apostille Services

  • Send your original Certificate of No Impediment to our team so we can check it meets the requirements.
  • We submit your document to the FCDO for the apostille.
  • Your apostilled CNI is returned to you, ready to use abroad.

We handle the entire process and keep you updated at every step.

Pricing

  • Standard apostille (3–5 working days): £59 per document
  • Next-day apostille (next working day, received before 10am): £79 per document

Who needs a CNI apostille?

  • Anyone marrying abroad in a country that requires proof of no impediment (for example Spain, Italy, Denmark, the UAE and many others).
  • Couples whose chosen venue or local authority overseas has asked for an apostilled CNI.

Good to know

Please send the ORIGINAL certificate. A CNI is obtained from your local register office after giving notice, and many countries will only accept one issued recently — often within the last three to six months — so check the date and your wedding timeline before you start. Some countries also require a certified translation alongside the apostille; we can arrange that too. If you’re unsure what your venue needs, send it to us and we’ll advise. Marrying in Spain? You’ll usually need a sworn Spanish translation as well — see Spain Document Legalisation.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do I need to send the original?
A: Yes, please send the original Certificate of No Impediment.

Q: How long does it take?
A: Standard service is 3–5 working days. For documents received before 10am, our next-day service returns it the next working day.

Q: Do I also need a translation?
A: Some countries require a certified translation alongside the apostille. We can arrange this — just let us know your destination.

Q: Will it be accepted in my destination country?
A: An apostille is recognised by all member countries of the Hague Apostille Convention. If your destination requires full embassy legalisation instead, we can arrange that too.
