Birth Certificate Apostille UK — Official FCDO Legalisation Service
We provide a fast, professional apostille service for UK birth certificates, handled directly through the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Whether you need your birth certificate legalised for use in Spain, Italy, the UAE, or any other Hague Convention country, our service ensures your document is correctly processed and returned to you promptly.
What Is an Apostille for a Birth Certificate?
An apostille is an official certificate attached to your birth certificate that authenticates it for use in foreign countries that are members of the 1961 Hague Convention. Without an apostille, your UK birth certificate will not be accepted as a valid legal document abroad. The apostille is issued exclusively by the FCDO and confirms that the document is genuine and issued by a recognised UK authority.
Who Needs a Birth Certificate Apostille?
You may need an apostille on your UK birth certificate if you are applying for foreign citizenship or residency, getting married abroad, enrolling in an overseas educational institution, applying for a foreign visa or work permit, or completing any legal process in a Hague Convention country that requires proof of identity or nationality.
Our Service Options
Standard Apostille Service — £59 (3–5 Working Days): Your birth certificate is submitted to the FCDO and processed within 3 to 5 working days. This is the most cost-effective option for non-urgent applications.
Express Apostille Service — £79 (Next Working Day): Your birth certificate is submitted to the FCDO on a priority basis and processed on the next working day. This service is recommended when you have an urgent deadline.
How to Order
Simply complete the secure payment form below. Once your payment is confirmed, post your original birth certificate to our office address (provided in your confirmation email). We will submit it to the FCDO, attach the apostille, and return it to you by Royal Mail Special Delivery or DHL international courier.
Note: If your birth certificate is more than 12 months old and was issued by a local register office, it may require a solicitor certification before the FCDO will apostille it. Contact us if you are unsure.
