Is an apostille enough for your country?

Apostille only

Apostille Convention countries

Most of Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia, China, India, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam accept the apostille on its own. Many also want a translation.

Country guides: Spain (apostille + sworn translation) · Italy (Declaration of Value)

Apostille + legalisation

Countries that need embassy legalisation

These need the apostille first, then legalisation by their embassy in London. We handle both steps.

UAE · Qatar · Kuwait · Egypt · Thailand

Document not listed?

We apostille most UK public documents, including death certificates, court orders, medical letters, certified ID copies and translations. Some need solicitor or notary certification first. Send us a photo of your document and we’ll confirm the route and price.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to send the original document?
It depends on the document. Birth, marriage, ACRO, DBS and Certificate of No Impediment apostilles need the original. For some documents, such as deed polls, company documents and court PDFs, we can work from a copy or scan after solicitor certification. Each document’s page explains exactly what we need.
Why do some documents need solicitor certification?
The FCDO can only apostille a signature it can verify, such as a registrar’s, a court’s or a UK solicitor’s. Documents without one, like degree certificates or company documents, are certified by a UK solicitor first (£20 per document), which we arrange in-house.
Can I put several documents in one order?
Yes. Add them all to the order form and they are processed together. Each document needs its own apostille.
Can I get an electronic apostille?
Paper documents such as birth and marriage certificates receive a paper apostille. If your destination accepts e-apostilles for a digitally signed document, contact us and we’ll confirm the options.
What if my country is not in the Apostille Convention?
Countries such as the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt and Thailand need embassy legalisation after the apostille. We arrange both steps.
How fast can I get an apostille?
Standard takes 3–5 working days (£59). Next Day is £79 if we receive your document by 10:30am. Same Day (£250) is only for genuine emergencies approved by the FCDO.
