Which company documents can be apostilled?
We regularly handle the full range of UK company documents, including:
- Certificate of Incorporation
- Certificate of Good Standing
- Memorandum & Articles of Association
- Board resolutions and minutes
- Shareholder certificates and registers
- Commercial agreements, invoices and letters of authorisation
An apostille is an official certificate added by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) confirming your document is genuine, so it can be accepted in any country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.
Why your company documents need solicitor certification first
Company documents cannot go straight to the FCDO for an apostille — they first need to be certified by a UK solicitor. The certification carries a signature the FCDO can verify, which is what allows the apostille to be issued. We arrange this for you for £20 per document. The Certificate of Good Standing is the exception — it can be apostilled directly without solicitor certification. See our dedicated Certificate of Good Standing page.
Some countries require notarisation instead — we cover that too
A small number of countries do not accept solicitor certification on company documents and instead require them to be notarised by a Notary Public before the apostille. We offer this service at an additional cost. If your destination country requires notarisation — or if you’re not sure what it accepts — contact us before ordering and we’ll confirm the correct route and price for your documents.
Don’t have your documents? We can obtain them for you
If you don’t have your Certificate of Incorporation to hand, or you need a freshly issued Certificate of Good Standing, we can obtain your documents directly from Companies House on your company’s behalf — and then certify and apostille them, so the whole process is handled in one place. Get in touch and we’ll confirm the options, timescales and costs.

Who needs a company documents apostille?
- Companies opening a branch, subsidiary or bank account overseas.
- Businesses tendering for contracts or registering with foreign authorities.
- Directors signing agreements or powers of attorney for use abroad.
- Firms required to prove good standing to overseas partners or regulators.
Good to know
Many overseas authorities want recently issued documents — a Certificate of Good Standing in particular is often only accepted if issued within the last three to six months. If yours is older, we can obtain a fresh one from Companies House for you. If you need multiple documents apostilled, add them all to one order — we offer discounts for corporate and repeat clients.
